If you are part of a high school media program, you can write, film, and edit your own production to enter as early as January 25. A panel of judges from the media industry will personally review your film and give you valuable feedback. To see if you are eligible to participate in this private festival, check out our rules page.

The NWHSFF will be LIVE this year and the plan is to have the big show at Lincoln High School's new performance space in Seattle.

Jury prize winners receive a custom award.  Many winners have gone on to gain recognition at prestigious national, and international film festivals.

SEATTLE FILM INSTITUTE

The Seattle Film Institute Educators Grant program was developed to help high school Junior and Seniors in the Puget Sound region have access to high quality film related education offered at the SFI.  The SFI BA in Film offers concentrations in Filmmaking, Acting for Film, and Digital Arts, Animation, & Game Design. We appreciate teacher nominations to the program in any one of the BA in Film concentrations.  Students that are nominated and accepted into the film program will be eligible for a scholarship up to $5,000.  For more information on Seattle Film Institute:  http://www.sfi.edu

Shoreline Community College
Cinema and Media Studies explores the history, theory and impact of film and mass media around the world. From silent and black and white films to color, animation and digital imagery, students examine the role of media within historical, social and cultural contexts. Students have an opportunity to learn film and media production including screenwriting, journalism, directing, cinematography, photography, lighting and editing.
The Power P.A.
The Power P.A. Course is taught entirely by working film crew. We teach everything you need to know to launch your career in the film industry by starting as a Production Assistant. We cover how to find and land the jobs, set etiquette,  how to excel at typical P.A. tasks, and how to move up. The course is entirely online, so you can study when and where is best for you. Upon completion, you’ll be eligible to add your listing to The Power P.A. Directory, where productions can find and hire you.

Learn the art of filmmaking — from initial concept, to script, to the editing booth. Experiment with language, sound design, and lighting. Collaborate with peers from across all disciplines at Cornish. Contribute your vision to Seattle's independent film scene.​​
